Privacy policy
Last updated: March 31, 2026
This policy describes how Done-it (“we,” “us”) handles information when you use our marketing site at done-it-chores.com and when you use the Done-it mobile app for iPhone (with Android on Google Play when released). We do not sell your personal information. The same document is our full privacy notice for app stores: use the links below to jump to sensitive permissions and to how we handle data overall.

Marketing website (done-it-chores.com)
The public website provides product information and links. We do not operate account sign-up, marketing newsletters, or behavioral advertising trackers on this site. Basic hosting may create routine server logs when pages load; we do not use those logs on this site to build profiles of visitors.
Contact and feedback. If you use the Contact us form, you choose what to send (typically your name, email address, topic, and message). We use that information only to read and respond to your request—not for unsolicited marketing, and we do not sell it. Delivery may pass through a standard form-to-email provider so your message reaches our support team.
Reviews on the site. Short summaries or quotes shown from app stores reflect information that is already public on those platforms (for example average rating or recent review text we republish from a data file we maintain). We do not use that display to track you individually.
Camera, photos, and images (Google Play–style disclosure)
We use the device camera. Done-it accesses the camera only when you (or a parent on the account) actively choose optional chore verification and take a new picture for that purpose. We do not turn on the camera in the background, record video silently, or use the camera for unrelated features.
We may use the photo library. On supported devices, you can instead pick an existing photo from your library to attach as verification. That access is limited to what you select; we do not browse or upload your entire photo library.
What we do with images. Verification images are used to show that a chore was completed: they are stored as part of the chore record, visible to parents and guardians on your household, and may be copied to synced storage (for example iCloud or Google-based household sync) when you use those features, so another authorized phone or tablet can show the same proof. We use these images only to operate chore verification and household sync. We do not use them for advertising, we do not sell them, and we do not use them to build unrelated marketing profiles or to train machine-learning models.
Retention and deletion. Images stay with the chore and household data for as long as you keep that history unless you remove them through the app or delete your household data where the product allows. You can remove the app’s access to the camera or photo library at any time in system settings (verification may stop working until access is granted again).
Children. Chore verification is controlled by the household’s parent or guardian accounts; child flows follow the permissions and choices parents enable on the device.
How we handle data overall. Accounts, chores, purchases, diagnostics, children’s data, international transfers, and third parties are explained in the sections below, starting with Data we collect and why (Done-it app).
Data we collect and why (Done-it app)
To run the service, the app processes the kinds of information below. What stays on your device versus what is stored in the cloud depends on which features you turn on (for example iCloud backup, Google-based household sign-in, or photo verification). Camera and images are described in plain language in the section above.
- Account & sign-in. On iPhone, parents may use Sign in with Apple; Apple provides identifiers we use to anchor your household (for example a stable user identifier; Apple may share a private relay email if you choose to hide your email). If you use Sign in with Google where the app offers it, Google provides account identifiers and basic profile details needed to sign you in. On Android, sign-in through Google Play or Google accounts may apply under Google’s terms.
- Household & chore data. We process family membership, child profiles (such as display names, avatars, and theme choices), chores, schedules, completion status, stars, levels, streaks, rewards, Star Store redemptions, and related settings so the app can work and stay in sync across the devices you connect.
- Photos & camera (summary). Optional verification may capture or attach images using the camera or photo library. For the full, plain explanation of access, use, sync, and retention, see Camera, photos, and images.
- Calendar & reminders (iPhone). If you allow it, Done-it can read or write items in Apple Calendar and Reminders so parent chores can sit next to the rest of your schedule. We use that access only for those features.
- Purchases & subscriptions. Payments for optional premium features go through the store on your device (Apple App Store on iPhone today; Google Play when the Android app is available). We do not receive your full payment card number. We use Apple’s and Google’s purchase systems, together with services we use to run the app, to validate subscriptions, restore purchases, and tie premium access to the right parent account—including linking to the sign-in method you chose where applicable.
- Cloud sync & storage. When you use iCloud, Apple may process and store shared family information under Apple’s terms. When you use features that sync through Google’s cloud services (for example after signing in with Google), Google’s systems may store encrypted household data and sign-in details needed to keep devices in sync across iPhone and future Android.
- Diagnostics & support. Apple, Google, or our partners may process limited technical information (for example crash or performance reports) according to their usual practices and your device settings. We use that to keep the app reliable—not for sale.
Legal bases & retention (summary)
We process this information as necessary to perform our contract with you (provide the app), comply with law (for example tax or fraud rules where they apply), and pursue legitimate interests in securing and improving the service. We retain household and account data while your family uses Done-it and for a reasonable period afterward to resolve disputes, enforce terms, or meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymize it where feasible.
Children
Done-it is designed for families. Parents create and supervise child profiles. If you believe a child has provided personal information outside that parent-led flow, contact us through the support path listed on the App Store (or Google Play when available) and we will take appropriate steps.
Third-party services
The app relies on platform and cloud providers that process data on our behalf or under their own policies, including Apple (App Store, Sign in with Apple, iCloud, Calendar, Reminders, and related iPhone services), Google when you use Google sign-in or Google-based sync, and Google Play when the Android app is offered there. Their use of information is governed by their respective policies.
Your choices
You can revoke Calendar, Reminders, Camera, or Photo Library access in your device settings (see Camera, photos, and images for what that means for verification photos). You can sign out of the app, turn off cloud sync where the app allows it, or delete the app from your device. Subscription management and refunds follow Apple App Store or Google Play rules, depending on where you installed the app.
Security
We use industry-standard practices appropriate to the nature of the product, including encryption for data in transit where applicable and access controls on cloud data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
International users
If you use Done-it outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our partners operate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices or the app change. We will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or store listings when appropriate.
Contact
For privacy questions, use the support or contact path listed on the Done-it App Store page for your region, the Google Play listing when the Android app is available, or the Contact us form on done-it-chores.com.
